Napkin Rings
Sterling silver tableware designer, Janet Torelli, draws inspiration for her unique, handcrafted designs from architectural and organic forms. However, her inspiration may never have come had it not been for a lack of things desired. “I entertain a lot, collect vintage glassware and antique sterling silverware. I began designing the pieces I could not find--new or antique,” she recounts.

As an artist, Torelli sees her works as a marriage of functionality and contemporary elegance for the table; though, she admits some have found the influence of fine jewelry in her designs, “People love my pieces; they love to touch them, put them up to themselves as if they were jewelry.”

Torelli takes pleasure in her work and enjoys it even more when others also delight in her pieces. “What I like most is when people buy a piece as a gift and need to buy one for themselves, as well.” Torelli’s collection features over 50 designs: ice tongs, serving tongs, dessert servers, sugar tongs, grillable skewers, martinipics, hors d’oeuvres pics, etc. She is a member of the American Craft Council.
